Alphonso Romero Jones II and Marquis Kofi Rodriguez will alternate as Young Simba, while Shereen Pimentel and Shannon Skye Tavarez will play Young Nala in the Broadway production of The Lion King, currently at the Minskoff Theatre. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) was an African-American Baptist Minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968.
A little bit of American History... In the 11 year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over 6 million miles and spoke over 2500 times appearing wherever there was injustice, protest and action. Meanwhile, he wrote five books as well as numerous articles. At the age of 35, King was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. King was an eloquent speaker and literary scholar.
